One way to curb globalwarming is to purposely shoot sulfur into the atmosphere, a scientist suggested today.
The burning of fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. It also releases sulfur that cools the planet by reflecting solar radiation away from Earth.
Our awareness2007 say the globalwarming has been winning in recent decades.
Injecting sulfur into the second atmospheric layer closest to Earth would reflect more sunlight back to space and offset greenhouse gas warming, according to Nobel laureate Paul Crutzen from the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Germany and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California at San Diego.
Crutzen suggests carrying sulfur into the atmosphere via balloons and using artillery guns to release it, where the particles would stay for up to two years. The results could be seen in six months.
Nature does something like this naturally.
When Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in1991, millions of tons of sulfur was injected into the atmosphere, enhancing reflectivity and cooling the Earth’s surface by an average of 0.9 degrees Fahrenheit in the year following the eruption.
“Given the grossly disappointing international awareness2007 to the required greenhouse gas emissions, … research on the feasibility and environmental consequences of climate engineering of the kind presented in this paper, which might need to be deployed in future, should not be tabooed”

Consequence: more powerful and dangerous hurricanes
Warmer water in the oceans pumps more energy into tropical storms, making them more intense and potentially more destructive.

Consequence: ecosystem shifts and species die-off
The increase in global temperatures is expected to disrupt ecosystems and result in loss of species diversity, as species that cannot adapt die off. The first comprehensive assessment of the extinction risk from global warming found that more than one million species could be committed to extinction by 2050 if global warming pollution is not curtailed. Some ecosystems, including alpine meadows in the Rocky Mountains, as well as tropical montane and mangrove forests, are likely to disappear because new warmer local climates or coastal sea level rise will not support them.

GlobalWarming, in brief, is the warming of the Earth. Our planet, Earth, is continually being warmed by different sources (for e.g. gases in the atmosphere, ultraviolet rays from the sun etc.) This total process of warming of the earth due to different reasons is called the GlobalWarming. But why do we need to be so cautious of it? The truth is that certain human activities are affecting this process in a negative way. Industries and modern factories release gases in a large amount which enter the atmosphere and stay there. They have the ability to absorb heat and also to send it back towards earth. In this way, the planet’s overall temperature starts increasing. Globalwarming awareness2007, this in turn results in more diseases and more severe natural disasters thus causing thousands of deaths.

The atmosphere of the Earth retains heat partly that the sun brings to him, and have a globalwarming, it is the awareness2007. Gases called for purpose of greenhouse emitted by the human activities, whose for 60% (and in increasing proportion) carbon dioxide coming from coal, oil and waste gases, has intensified this phenomenon for two centuries (with a feedback of the temperature which increases in its turn the CO2 concentrations and will do a globalwarming after 2007).

The consequences of a Globalwarming which one knows now that it is likely to develop and to be prolonged are likely to be heavy for humanity. Scientists, policies and citizens are overall conscious of the need for taking measures to limit the reheating of planet, but often individually not very inclined to apply their ideas.Since the Summit of Rio, which invited with the international responsibility to safeguard planet, the awareness of the climatic change took place, and of the strategies were proposed to limit the emission of gases for purpose of Globalwarming. The protocol of Kyoto which treats this aspect is nevertheless in a dead end, because of the refusal of signature on behalf of country whose industrial activities are strongly generating gas for purpose of greenhouse. In France, following a private bill emanating from the Senate, a national observatory on the effects of the Globalwarming and the climatic reheating in Metropolitan France and in the departments and overseas territories was created in 2007.The awareness2007 is a campaign against the Globalwarming was set up by the French ministry for ecology and the durable development, with for objective ensuring in a first stage the stability of the emissions of gases for purpose of greenhouse, then to fall under a reduction of these emissions.

Forests, agricultural lands, and other terrestrial ecosystem offer significant carbon mitigation potential. Although not necessarily permanent, conservation and sequestration of carbon may allow time for other options to be further developed and implemented.

We have awareness of biological mitigation can occur by three strategies:
Conservation of threatened carbon pools may help to avoid emissions, if leakage can be prevented, and can only become sustainable if the socio-economic drivers for deforestation and other losses of carbon pools can be addressed. Sequestration reflects the biological dynamics of growth, often starting slowly, passing through a maximum in 2007, and then declining over decades to centuries.

Reindeer are expected to disappear from large portions of their current range by the end of the century.
Marmots are ending their hibernations about three weeks earlier than they did 30 years ago.
Canadian red squirrels are breeding about 18 days earlier.
Red foxes are spreading northward, encroaching on territory normally occupied by their artic cousins.
North American Fowler’s toads are breeding six days later than they did a decade ago.
Polar bears today are thinner and less healthy than those of 20 years ago.
Coral reefs around the world are predicted to increase by up to a third in size.
Elephant seal pups are leaner because their prey is migrating to cooler waters.
Loggerhead sea turtles are laying their eggs about 10 days earlier than they did 15 years ago.
Rising temperatures are influencing the sex of Hawkbill turtle hatchlings, with more females than males being born.
Tidal organisms like rock barnacles, mollusks, and tidal snails commonly found in warm southern waters are moving northward.
Many fish species are moving northward in search of cooler waters.
The diet of some songbirds are changing, with some avoiding insects that consume leaves exposed to high levels of carbon dioxide.
North American tree swallows are laying their eggs about nine days earlier than they did 40 years ago.
Common murres are breeding 24 days earlier than they did a decade ago.
Some plants are thriving in areas where their growth was limited before, thanks to temperature changes that provide more water, heat and sunlight.
American flowering plants like columbines and wild geraniums are blooming earlier than before.
Edith’s checkerspot butterflies are moving northward in search of cooler temperatures.
A gene in the fruitfly Drosophila normally associated with hot, dry conditions has spread to populations living in traditionally cooler southern regions.

As the world warms, some extreme climate events, like the frequency of heat waves and very heavy precipitation, are expected to increase, but it remains uncertain whether or not to expect changes in the frequency of some other extremes. Moreover, it is important to note that it is not possible to link any particular weather or climate event definitively to global warming . The causal linkage, if any, between the frequency of extreme events and global warming only can be determined through statistical analyses of long- term data, because the natural climate system can produce weather and climate events that often appear to be uncharacteristic of the recent climate.

In 2007, the globalwarming awareness is in the center many debates but also been the subject of many controversies. The human activity is shown finger like the essential factor of this reheating. Certain scientists and ecologists draw the bell from alarm.
Since the man appeared, it always thought that it could modify his environment and work the Earth according to his goodwill. Today still, many which is those believe that our simple will can avoid us the climatic catastrophes to come. Personally, I do not share this analysis of the facts. Not that the human activity which is particularly polluting should not be reduced to the maximum but, I doubt, whom that is enough to modify the future.
Indeed, one can really apprehend the future only by knowing the past. However, the evolution of the climate of the Earth is registered under our feet. Obviously, the climatic evolution is marked by cycles, immutable, which depend on several criteria which, them, are completely independent, of our will.
